Artist Statement

"The process of painting evolves from daily life experiences of individuals. It is an investigation of subject matter that is already familiar to me in some way, through past memories. I am attracted to subjects that evoke memories from past experiences that I strongly connect to. I create intimacy in my paintings through color, choosing subtle color and value shifts, as well as through subject matter. I show my process through imperfections in my paintings that seem to relate to the subject itself."
